This section highlights Shri. Raghu's wonderful percussive intrepretation for the concluding numbers of concerts. These pieces, generally performed at the end of concerts emphasize aspects like poignancy, lyricism, and have a meditative quality to them. Sri. Raghu's artistry extends to place importance on these aspects, even through a dynamic percussive instrument like the mridangam. The following excerpts are taken from a concert with Sri. Raghu performing alongside Sri. K.V. Narayanaswamy, Sri. M. Chandrasekaran at the Krishna Gana Sabha, Madras in August of 1980.

The first selection is the very famous Krishna Nee Bhegane sung with a great deal of devotion by Sri. K.V.N.  One can notice certain tabla phrases which, Sri. Raghu has incorporated into his accompaniment to bring forth a certain aesthetic relevant to rendition.

The second piece also from the same concert is Sri. Venugopala in raga Kurunji.  Though, this piece is also a concluding number of a concert, one can find it is quite different to Krishna Nee Bhegane in its tempo and feel.  The kalapramanam is quite tricky...  but, Sri. Raghu has presented a wide range phrases in "mishra nadai" or a pulse of seven to fit the song.  At 2'22, Sri. Raghu's playing highlights the tempo of the song, which is very unique and one can see his grip over the laya, or rhythm, yet he does not disturb the path of the song.
